It is our philosophy that good lawyers are leaders not only in the courtroom, but also in the community—and our attorneys and staff are highly involved in several philanthropic endeavors in the community.

Great Lakes Burn Camp

The Great Lakes Burn Camp is dedicated to promoting healing, self-esteem, confidence and general well-being for children with burn injuries. Each year, Fabian, Sklar, King & Liss, P.C. provides the resources for five deserving campers age 7 to 17 to attend the weeklong summer camp, which offers campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, such as swimming, waterskiing, scuba diving, hiking, fishing and much more. The camp also provides 24-hour medical supervision and a camp nurse to assist in dressing changes, physical therapy and other special medical services.

Annual Smoke Alarm Donation

Two out of three fire deaths happen in homes with no smoke alarms or where the alarms are not working properly—making working smoke alarms a vital safety measure for all homes.

To help ensure that families in homes across Detroit are safe from the perils of fires, the firm makes an annual donation of 500 smoke alarms to the Detroit Fire Department in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week in October. Since 2010, the firm has donated more than 2,500 smoke alarms, which are then available to residents of the city through the Detroit Fire Department free of charge.
