ATTORNEY AT LAWJason J. Liss
Jason J. Liss is a managing shareholder at Fabian, Sklar, King & Liss, P.C. Jason graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 1993 and has over 25 years of litigation experience in property insurance matters representing insureds whose claims under commercial and homeowners property insurance policies are being investigated by their insurers or have been denied.
Jason has extensive experience representing clients throughout the claims investigation process, including at Examinations Under Oath (EUO), and litigating numerous coverage issues involving policy interpretation, property damage to structures/personal property, business income / extra expense losses, additional living expenses/loss of rents, and allegations of arson and fraud. Jason also litigates cases against insurance agents whose negligence has caused his clients to suffer uninsured losses.
Jason represents policyholders throughout the country for claims pending in Michigan and other states and litigates cases nationally in both state and federal courts outside of Michigan. During his career, Jason has obtained numerous multimillion-dollar settlements, aggressively litigated hundreds, if not thousands, of cases, conducted dozens of jury trials and argued appeals before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.
Jason is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), and is an alternate member of the National Fire Protection Association Technical Committee on Fire Investigator Professional Qualifications, which is responsible for NFPA 1033: Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. Jason is a past chairperson for the Insurance & Indemnity Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and is currently a hearing panelist for the State Bar of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board and a committee member for the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Committee. He is a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA), the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) and the Oakland County Bar Association.
